LearnRounds ("LearnRounds," "we," "us") operates the LearnRounds tutoring marketplace. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

From students:

Name and email address
Education level (EMT / AEMT / paramedic / other), subject area, learning goals, and your description of what you're struggling with
Timing, availability, and budget preferences

From educator applicants:

Name, email, clinical credential, years in practice
Teaching areas, teaching experience, availability, and preferred rate
Your written response to our teaching assessment prompt

From payments:

Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid and the amount — we never see or store your full card number. Stripe's own privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.

Automatically:

Basic technical data (browser type, pages visited) needed to operate the site. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

2. How we use it

Matching: your learning needs are reviewed by our team and shared with a matched educator so they can prepare for your session.
Communication: we email you about your match, booking, payment, and session follow-up. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
Operations: we use aggregated, de-identified data to understand demand and improve the Service.
Legal: we retain records needed for tax, accounting, and legal compliance (e.g., payment records, contractor payments).

3. What we share — and what we don't

With your matched educator: your name, subject area, learning goals, and availability — only what's needed to run the session.
With Stripe: payment processing only.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

4. Data retention

Tutoring requests and educator applications are kept while your relationship with LearnRounds is active and for a reasonable period afterward for operations and legal compliance.
Payment records are retained as required by tax and financial regulations.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see §5); we will delete what we can while meeting legal retention obligations.

5. Your rights

You may at any time email hello@learnrounds.com to:

Ask what personal data we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate data;
Request deletion of your data;
Ask us to stop contacting you.

We will respond within 30 days.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards (including token-gated internal tools and encrypted payment processing) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll post the updated policy here with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.
