Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LearnRounds website and tutoring marketplace (the "Service"), operated by LearnRounds ("LearnRounds," "we," "us").

By submitting a tutoring request, applying as an educator, or using the site in any way, you agree to these Terms.

1. What LearnRounds is

LearnRounds is a marketplace that connects students in EMS education (EMT, AEMT, paramedic) with independent clinician educators for live, one-on-one tutoring sessions.

During our beta, matching is done by hand (concierge style): you tell us what you're struggling with, we match you with an educator, and we coordinate booking and payment. There is no automated matching, and no account is required to request tutoring.

2. Educational purposes only

The Service provides education only. Tutoring sessions are not medical advice, medical direction, or consultation for active patient care. Nothing on this site or in any session should be used to make clinical decisions for real patients. If you are facing a clinical emergency, follow your local protocols and medical direction — not a tutoring session.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to request tutoring or apply as an educator.

4. How tutoring requests work

You submit a request describing your level, subject, goals, timing, and budget.
We review it and match you with an educator from our vetted pool.
We send you a booking link and a payment link for the session price.
After payment, you book a time directly with the educator and meet live (video).

We review every request by hand during the beta. Submitting a request does not guarantee a match — if we can't find the right educator, we'll tell you and you owe nothing.

5. Payments and pricing

Session prices are set when you're matched and shown before you pay. What you see is what you pay — no hidden fees.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
The 15% platform share is an arrangement between LearnRounds and the educator. It does not change the price you pay.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Cancel 24+ hours before your session: full refund, no questions asked.
Cancel within 24 hours: your payment becomes a credit for a rescheduled session.
Educator no-show or cancellation: full refund or free rescheduling — your choice.
After a completed session: sessions are generally non-refundable, but if the session didn't happen as described, email us within 48 hours and we'll make it right.

7. Educators are independent contractors

Educators on LearnRounds are independent contractors, not employees or agents of LearnRounds. Each educator is responsible for the content and quality of their own sessions. We vet credentials and teaching ability before accepting educators, but we do not supervise or control how sessions are taught.

8. Acceptable conduct

You agree not to:

Share session content in ways that violate an educator's rights;
Harass, abuse, or discriminate against educators or other users;
Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to seek medical direction for active patient care;
Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid the session fee after being matched (matched sessions are billed through LearnRounds).

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee any educational outcome, exam result, or certification.

To the maximum extent permitted by Florida law, LearnRounds' total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the session giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Florida, unless otherwise required by law.
